I’m a West coast girl, living on a small island and close to nature. I’ve recently discovered that I love to travel, and I love to write about my experiences. Alot of this blog is about places I’ve been in the world, and it is also about my inner world as revealed to me through self-reflection, conversation, relationship to people, place and time. Sometimes it’s about the lifestyle I live, in my very unique home in a hand-built house, in an open-minded, liberal and thriving artist’s community, amongst the backdrop of the beautiful mountains, sea and sky of Canada’s Pacific Coast.

I started this blog as a way to inform family and friends of my 3 month journey through Western Europe. A travel journal. (You can check out those posts under the category ‘Jill in Europe’.) It soon became a joy to me as I immersed myself in the act of writing. One of the topics I love to delve into is – How do I prepare myself and maintain a positive intention whilst I allow myself to follow my heart? The decisions I make in planning a journey, the choices and experiences I have along the way, and the expansion of my attitudes and perceptions throughout, have all been food for thought.

It turns out I am something of a rarity –  a wife who travels for pleasure, for months at a time, without her husband – and this is a notion I am always pondering on. How does the way I live my life impact on my husband? How come more mature women aren’t doing this? The manner in which I live my life, endeavor to follow my passion, interact with my community, and share my story is of utmost importance to me. I plan to explore these and other current issues related to BEING and STAYING ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT LIFE, in this blog, and will start new categories as I go. I share my writing with you in the hope that some of my words touch you in an inspiring, enriching way.
